Parent Business Owner Conservative Educator
I'm Steve Meisman, running for Pasco County School Board District One. I have been a resident of Pasco County since the 1980s and graduated from Gulf High School in New Port Richey.
I have lived in District One with my family, and I love it. Currently, I am the only candidate who lives in District One and has for over a dozen years. As a parent and business owner, I will bring a unique and desperately needed parent's perspective to the school board.
As a self-taught Manufacturing Engineer, my beautiful wife Amy and I have spent the last 30 years building a successful aerospace manufacturing business in Pasco County.
As a self-taught engineer, I understand the importance of education and believe a solid education is paramount for everyone. I'm also aware that education is not a "One Size Fits All" system. Because I am self-taught, I believe I have been uncorrupted by Academia and the WOKE ideals that come with it.
Having two children in the Pasco County School system, I understand the teacher shortages and the budget concerns of the Pasco School district. For this reason, I stepped away from my lucrative profession to work as a substitute teacher at my daughter's middle school to help the school system and experience firsthand what goes on in the classrooms.
Because I have both homeschooled my kids and taught them in public school, I have firsthand experience of how the Pasco County School District lacks and does not adequately serve the students or the teachers of Pasco County. As a concerned parent, I've had enough, and now, I'm standing up to fix it.
As a lifetime student of World History and Politics, I can quickly see how Cultural Marxism is flooding into our schools at an alarming rate, and I will work tirelessly to remove it, root and branch.
As a School Board Member for District One, my goal is to return classroom authority and compensation to the teachers, follow the Parental Rights bill and reduce the crushing anxiety our kids feel because of the woke demands at school. This can be done by removing the WOKE Agenda from Pasco County Schools. As a School Board Member, I will argue for policies that place parents' opinions at the forefront, remove ALL Common Core curricula, and create policies that will direct teachers to teach students "How to Think," not "What to Think."
I'm Steve Meisman, and I approve this message.
